Introduction to Singapore-Industry Scholarship
Partnering with the Singapore Government, industry players offer the Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS) to prospective or current undergraduates studying in a local or overseas university who are driven and passionate to join the energy sector.

- SgIS Full-Term - For ‘A’ Level, Diploma Holders and equivalent
- SgIS Mid-Term (Local) - For Local Undergraduates
- SgIS Mid-Term (Overseas) - For Overseas Undergraduates

SgIS Full-Term
Target Audience
Young Singapore citizens who are about to embark on their full-time local undergraduate studies are eligible for the SgIS Full-Term.
Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizen
- Good GCE ‘A’ Level results (at least 10 academic units), International Baccalaureate, NUS High School Diploma or Polytechnic Diploma
- Seeking admission or have been accepted for admission to the following institutions:
- Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
- National University of Singapore (NUS)
- Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
- Singapore Management University (SMU)
- Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
- Good co-curricular activities record and leadership achievements
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors
Value of Award
- Full tuition fees and other approved academic charges
- Maintenance and other allowances
- Hostel allowance
- Overseas exchange sponsorship (if requirements are met)
Bond Period
- 3 years with the sponsoring organisation (for SIT graduates)
- 4 years with the sponsoring organisation (for NTU / NUS / SMU / SUTD graduates)
SgIS Mid-Term (Local)
Target Audience
Young Singapore citizens who are currently pursuing their full-time undergraduate studies in a local university are eligible for the SgIS Mid-Term Local.
Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizen
- Good undergraduate results from the following institutions:
- Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
- National University of Singapore (NUS)
- Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)
- Singapore Management University (SMU)
- Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
- Have completed at least 1 academic semester and have not embarked on final year of study at point of application
- Good co-curricular activities record and leadership achievements
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors
Value of Award and Bond Period
- 1 to 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$30,000 grant and a 2-year bond with the sponsoring organisation
- More than 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$50,000 grant and a 3-year bond with the sponsoring organisation
SgIS Mid-Term (Overseas)
Target Audience
Young Singapore citizens who are currently pursuing their full-time undergraduate studies in a university overseas are eligible for the SgIS Mid-Term Overseas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Singapore Citizen
- Good undergraduate results from an overseas university
- Have completed at least 1 academic semester and have not embarked on final year of study at point of application
- Good co-curricular activities record and leadership achievements
- Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors
Value of Award and Bond Period
- 1 to 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$40,000 grant and a 2-year bond with the sponsoring organisation
- More than 2 academic years remaining in university at point of application – S$60,000 grant and a 3-year bond with the sponsoring organisation
